This art museum has much to see, but you can’t enjoy it because the staff members dressed in black constantly harass you with microaggressive racist behavior. The older white woman with perfect dentures had the nerve to call my girlfriend and me “gals,” as if we weren’t ladies. As we made our way to the second floor, the short older white man with a lazy eye began following us from the ground floor showcases to the ones upstairs. We really tried to ignore them and enjoy the beautiful art pieces on display, but after a while, I became very irritated. I confronted the man and asked him why he was following us.He claimed he was breaking out his other staff members. I also brought to his attention that the female staff were calling us "gals." He then laughed as if I had made a joke. That was enough for us, so we went downstairs and spoke with Guest Relations, who were very apologetic, and then we left. It’s very sad that racism still exists in our society. I tried my best to ignore it, but I couldn’t continue to tolerate the disrespect when all I wanted to do was appreciate some art. I would rate the art with 5 stars because it features pieces that represent all heritages and ethnicities. The prints and oil paintings are very beautiful.

It's a great place to visit with/ without kids. The entrance and parking are free. We loved the exhibit, they have a small library and gift shop. The kids also loved their grounds. I would definitely recommend a visit. They do not allow water or food.

Excellent art in many forms. Not just cowboy stuff as I had once assumed. Georgia O’Keefe works, great photography & and gorgeous rainbow out of colored thread!

My favorite part of the place was the shop inside of it and the atmosphere. Every person I talked to was nice and gentle. Come check out with friends if you have nothing to do!

First off, the story of the guy this museum is named for is fascinating and second their collection and building are top-notch. My favorites were the Warhol and Ruscha. It’s also a good place to grab some lunch

Get thee to the museum!Visit your favorites or enjoy the new.The Texas Prairie Grass inspired exhibition just opened and be prepared to be captivated. As an outdoor inspired Texan, this show spoke to my heart in the language that reads nature in all her mystery. I could hear the wind and feel the Prairie Grasses of my grandparents' pastures as my eyes and heart devoured each inch of this space. If abstraction is more to your liking, head up the rainbow 🌈 topped stairs to the recently opened mid-century sculptural and lithograph pieces to see what they become with your viewing. And see if, like me, your mind goes wild with conjecture as you walk up the ramps lined with an installation designed specifically for this space at the Amon Carter. As always, the museum is free but welcomes donations!
