Even when it was the first week allowing customers and suffering from a loss of power destroying all the food, when Bonnell's opened for business you betcha we were the first seated on that Saturday. The photo is of my wife's plate of filet of bison with a pepper whiskey sauce, truffled and salted Pomme Frits and grilled asparagus! What a meal, there were no take homes and that's a change from my eating fish or chicken. The bison was delicious.Fast forward to 5/25/24 - wife passed in 2021. Celebrated memorial Day 2024 by myself in memory of my father my stepfather my daughter myself and my son all served in the military One branch or the other on my part it was two branches USMC and the United States Coast guard auxiliary. I had the ribeye brand new with Marsala wine and mushrooms and a side of very nicely done garlic mashed potatoes real scrumptious and I top that off with half of a chocolate pecan cobbler with a homemade dose of ice cream on top in a cast iron pan yum. I'm saving half of both for tomorrow memorial Day for my breakfast. Stay safe.Just found out that Bonnells is open again. I rescheduled for my birthday dinner that was cancelled on me when they closed for Covid again. I had the Bass, lightly accompanied by a gentle herb sauce, baby carrots and instead of risotto they allowed me to have the sautéed oyster mushrooms. It worked out perfectly and allowed me to have enough room for their famous buttermilk pie! My late wife Bobbe and I had that once before and it was a great finish to a great meal. I forgot to include the appetizer of cute little crab cakes with an aioli laying in a small bed of fresh greens. Done to perfection! The candle in front of the empty chair is my honoring late wife Bobbe who loved Bonnells as well. Her last photo was out 25th. Wedding anniversary last May of 2021. That's her holding up a toast of wine.

Just seated. Wine delivered. Sister says, "this is the high end of Charlestons." We know it's going to be GREAT, SO 5 STARS EARLY! LOVE SHEILA! FRANKY just did the fresh grate (pepper) on the great Caesar. Can't wait for the 18 ounce Lobster tail! (Well, only 8, but I can pretend!) Thanks to ALL who recommended this place! Happy campers in da HOUSE!!!! The Baylor glasses were the CLASSY TOUCH! SIC' EM!!!

The food was out of this world, fantastic! The servers were very attentive and made our anniversary dinner perfection. The only thing that distracted was how loud it was. I will be going back again!

We had an amazing time at Bonnell’s. The carpaccio was the best I have ever had. Definitely recommend the quail legs and elk skillet. For dinner we had the Buffalo, it was amazing. I would highly recommend this resturant. Sheila was our server, she was amazing!! Very kind and spent time going over the menu with us. The general manager came over and spoke with us about events happening in the area. Just an all around wonderful experience.

We were celebrating our 4th Anniversary and made a reservation the day before our Anniversary dinner. When we walked in, we were greeted very warmly by Morgan and congratulated on our special occasion. We were seated and allowed to choose where we were most comfortable. The tables are cute and had a nice ambiance although the layout was a bit unusual. Jolene was our server throughout the night and was an absolute pleasure! She never let our glasses empty and had a great table side manner!! We had the Oysters Texafeller as our appetizer to share and we were pleasantly blown away!! The flavor was just delectable! The food was beautifully plated and the smokey flavor was out of this world! I ordered the Red Wine Braised Brisket while my spouse ordered the Elk Back Strap. For desert, we ordered the Tres Leches Creme Brule! And they gave us complimentary chocolate truffles to celebrate our Anniversary!! ❤❤ Overall one of the best Celebratory dinners I've ever experienced!!

This was a place near us that we passed constantly, and each time, I always admired their wonderful lush garden. We kept saying we needed to go there w/o realizing what restaurant it was. However, my husband found it was Bonnell's and took me there for our recent wedding anniversary. The food was spectacular probably because it's100% LOCALLY SOURCED TX FOOD. The chef apparently grew up hunting and believes in using local sourced 👍👍. We had the mixed grill with Buffalo and the Elk backstrap. Wow, the ELK BACKSTRAP is amazing at medium cook! Fave! I loved the stuffed quail, fried quail legs appetizer, and the Brushetta with goat cheese was divine. The selection of wines was outstanding, and the digital presentation for selection made it quite easy for pairing. OMG, the mashed marscapone "yams"/ sweet potatoes are absolute DIVINE HEAVEN. Forget the Thanksgiving marshmallow style, I can't eat them any other way now. The deserts for me I can't speak to because there was only one dairy-free alternative of sorbet in a flavor I didn't care for. They need another alternative (almond, cashew, goat, etc.) for those of us with digestive dairy issues. My husband seemed to really enjoy the cheesecake, though, and they brought a few truffles for a wedding celebration gift.Staff were very attentive. Our server, Brenda was very sweet, kind, and attentive. Kudos to host, bartender for ensuring I had a comfortable wheelchair space for seating in the bar area of the restaurant when we came in. Very accommodating..The only real negatives would be:▪︎ Only 1 handicap ♿️ parking is available, and I need van access always, so we had to park in an adjacent lot since the only spot avail. was taken.▪︎ need more dairy-free desert options other than 1 sorbet▪︎SHARPEN YOUR STEAK KNIVES!!! DULL! 😂▪︎ the lighting seems to be a constant complaint. Ambiance is great, but when it's too dark to see the menu, you need to hand out flashlights or turn the lights up a bit more 😆Overall, WE LOVE this place and will be back to try more of the menu & eat more Elk backstrap!
