Awesome little free art museum. Great stop and right next to Sundance Square. Weekdays are very quiet. The staff is very knowledgeable

I did not know that this museum was in downtown Fort Worth. Actually stumbled across it ... And so happy I did. This is a wonderful museum of western art; Russell and Remington...paintings and bronze. Very well laid out with great background stories to read about the art. And the real kicker?, admission is free! I will be back!

The Sid Richardson Museum in downtown Fort Worth is a true hidden gem, celebrated for its extensive and exceptional collection of Western art, which is the clear highlight of the experience. Complimentary admission adds to its appeal and makes the visit even more inviting. We visited during the week and experienced no wait, allowing us to enjoy the museum at a relaxed pace. The hostess was gracious and knowledgeable, enhancing an already lovely visit

What a cool place of Western Film History. I was just doing a morning walk in downtown Fort Worth and stumbled upon this museum. Not only is admission free but the staff is very kind and knowledgeable about all of the paintings and their historical ties to Hollywood. My absolute favorite was little Ruth's drawing in the kids area, it had me laughing and the Hunter on his horse in Moonlight painting, it is powerful.

It's a small but beautiful gallery. They had some small art projects for kids and a small collection of works. I'm only showing 1 example. If you enjoy Western artists you will enjoy this location. We enjoyed this gallery just before the parade of lights.

A wonderful location full of genuinely beautiful western paintings. Very nice, professional staff. I was particularly impressed by the diagram showing exactly how those frames are made step by step.

Small museum but a great collection of Remington and Russell works! Bibi was so helpful, telling us all about the artists and even taking the time to look up the answer to a specific question I had about them. We were told that the museum displays about one-third of Richardson’s collection at any given time and rotates pieces every year so it would be worth visiting again. I did notice, as others mentioned, that you could hear the security cameras moving as we walked through the exhibit. I understand the need for security with such valuable artwork, but the noise was a bit distracting from the overall experience and somewhat unnerving. Perhaps some quieter cameras? 😊 All in all, I would highly recommend visiting this museum, and you can’t beat the free admission!

The gallery was awesome. If fact they are closing for two weeks to preview a new exhibit with a complete museum makeover. Reopening May 4th. Can't wait to return.

Small but nice museum. My favorite part, is they provide a postcard and send it for free. I sent a nice card back home. The admission was also free.

It is a small museum with only 2 rooms to display paintings and a few bronze sculptures from the collection of Sid Richardson. The docent was heard explaining some of the works to other visitors and offered good services to us too. But we were short on time as we had a flight to catch. The western paintings by Charles Russell and Frederic Remington were impressive and the short descriptions of each of the paintings help in understanding the details. Apparently the displays are changed often. There is a self portrait of Frederic Remington and a bronze sculpture of Charles Russell. It was worth the quick stop.
