    ⚠️DONT COME HERE⚠️
    WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

We came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday because it was close to TCU. They did not want to sit her in the first place, and the “chef” (who is the only cook here) was rude to her. We waited MORE THAN AN HOUR for our food. When we asked the server about it, he grabbed two of our friends outside and explained to them how the “chef” refused to make our food because we were not spending enough money for his liking (even though the plates were more expensive than anywhere else in Fort Worth) and proceeded TO JUST QUIT ON THE SPOT. The place is THAT BAD. When the food finally arrived, we waited minutes between plates. So by the time the next plate arrived, other people were half way through theirs or done. The food was mid at best, and our’s friend birthday was ruined.

We booked Megu for my daughter’s birthday - she live sushi! I didn’t even think about the fact that TCU had a home game and it was mass chaos. Luckily our server kindly moved his car for us to have a spot to park nearby. We had the place to ourselves and our server and Chef Peter took excellent care to ensure we had a wonderful time. Please go visit this hidden gem - this is the freshest sushi we’ve had since we lived in Japan.

The absolute best sushi in Fort Worth. I absolutely love this place. My girlfriend and I ordered the Love Boat which was a ton of food for a great price. I also ordered Bluefin Tuna straight from Japan. One of the most remarkable dining experiences in this city!

We went with a group of 9 for my wife’s birthday. The chef’s hospitality is only matched by his food. He has a Michelin star from prior chef experiences. We had the ostrich entree as a table appetizer along with the tuna tatami and a wagyu carpaccio. There was equal dining from both the French and the Japanese menus. The sushi/sashimi platters are some of the freshest fish I have had. Many of their fish they bring in daily or weekly from Japan. Don’t sleep on the black cod either. Lastly, and not least, the ginger vinaigrette on their house sale is something I would love to bottle.

Sushi lovers make your way to this hidden gem. Phenomenal Sushi!
I was greeted and seated immediately, as was everyone who followed.
Chef Peter delivered one of his magnificent "Aircraft Carriers" to our table himself and identified each of the beautifully presented sashimi, sushi, and roll offerings, including the Japanese sourced fishes
All of which were divinely, deliciously -silky, tender, light, buttery perfection.
Currently, Megu is BYOB with no corking-fee.
An ice bucket was provided for our white wine and pours offered throughout our meal.
And amazingly, you can bring your vegetarian friends along - vegetarian options available on the menu. You can also request gluten-free soy sauce.
The dining space is small, so I overheard a vegan at a nearby table start their meal with perfect edemame, and then Chef/Owner Peter visited their table to clarify the vegan's needs and returned later bearing a custom vegan friendly dish.
Chef Peter escorted us graciously to the stair-free exit door.
Initially I had rated the atmosphere a 4 of 5 as it is comfortable not posh but as I wrote this review and reflected on the experience this resulted in the upgrade to a 5 as for my table & from my observation as a whole, the feel of the evening was that we had eaten at a very talented friend's place rather than a restaurant. We enjoyed lovely background music and soft natural lighting with an exceptionally gracious host.
Megu's entrance is at the front of the building facing University Drive, making the turn into the parking lot and making your way onto the entrance lanai the only awkward part of the experience. Once inside, Peter's warmth and expertise lead to fabulous indulging.

We had a delightful experience. The service was excellent with the staff knowledgeable and efficient. Chef even came out to say hi and make sure everything was good. We really enjoyed the Japanese soup dumplings! The karage was also great and something we haven't been able to find since we were in Japan.

Second time at this restaurant with my wife. We have been thoroughly impressed both times by the service and quality of food. Highly recommend this restaurant. Tonight we were able to experience the tasting menu, and it was lovely. 8 course of great food. Stand outs were the baby scallops, pomegranate tuna and kobe (real A5) dish that was probably 6 ounces of real Kobe beef. Everything was excellent. Can’t wait to go back,
