    What makes it fun

Provender Hall combines traditional American food favorites and Southern comfort food for a menu that celebrates smoked meats and fresh seafood. The eclectic menu at Provender Hall includes dishes like cornbread, deviled eggs, smoked trout dip, chicken and andouille sausage gumbo, shrimp and grits, chicken fried steak, steak frites, smoked 1/2 chicken, and crispy okra. Provender Hall also has a big (the biggest in the Stockyards) bar program with an extensive selection of whiskey and agave.

I was a bit hesitant to try Provender Hall for dinner after reading the inconsistent reviews. However, we had an excellent experience! We were greeted warmly at the door and seated promptly. Our waiter (Christian) was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. Our food was piping hot and delicious- we had the fried green tomatoes, skillet cornbread, and a ribeye (that my husband claims is the best he’s ever had).

My wife and I had reservations for brunch at Provender Hall for our anniversary. Overall we were disappointed and will not be going back. The brunch menu is limited. I know the chef/owner is big on stating the restaurant having Texas flair - however having lived in Fort Worth my entire life, oysters are not big in the non-Gulf parts (most of) Texas yet comprise a number of menu items. My wife had shrimp and grits - the most expensive item on the menu at $28. It came on a very small platter (we were stunned at the portion). The three shrimp were overcooked and rubbery - not edible. There was lots of chopped bacon and very little grits, which were runny/watery. We were probably 80% thru our meal before our waiter came by to check on us, when my wife complained. He and the manager did remove it from the check and offered to make something else, but being almost done at that point we had other things to do and she did not want to eat after I was already done. My chicken fried steak and fried egg was ok, nothing special. We did note the breakfast potatoes which came with my meal were the highlight of both our meals. Our recommendation would be to update the menu to more of a Texas flair if that is what you are striving for and check on guests more. Had we seen our waited when we started to eat ( did not see any wait staff upstairs for some time) we would have sent my wife's meal back for something else before we were so far into the meal. As locals, this is not a restaurant we will be coming back to.

Large cocktail menu compared to food.

Food was OK but nothing special. This was our first time here and I honestly expected better. Service was painfully slow all the way from drinks to main dishes being served. My meal was hot but others' at our table were only lukewarm. We were interested in dessert but after how slow everything came out we were honestly just ready to leave. Probably won't go back - there are much better restaurants in Fort Worth that we would rather spend our time and money.

Quality does not represent the price.

What a wonderful experience for dinning here at this establishment. Located in the heart of the stock yards. Beef ribs 20 stars! Cocktails were amazing.

This place was really wonderful. There was a 30 min wait but the hostess said we could sit in the bar and it was a small table but the server/bartender was so amazing she promised it would work and it did. We had a great dinner for three. I had the redfish which was good but the real show stopper was the huge beef rib for two but it really could feed four. You'll have to see the picture because you just can't describe how huge and amazing this dish was. It was smokey and tender and reminded me of slow cooked BBQ beef but without the sauce. So amazing. I will forever remember my first time at the Stockyards. The service was so perfect and she was so nice and pleasant every time she checked on us and anticipated our needs before we could ask. You must try this place if you're looking for some fine Texas surf or turf.
